This Privacy Policy explains how Entour collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use the Entour mobile application and related services.

We refer to ourselves as "Entour", "we", "us" or "our". The user is referred to as "you" or "user".

2. What data we collect

When you use Entour, we only collect data necessary to deliver and improve the app. This includes:

  • Account information - name, email address, username, profile picture, and bio, provided when you create and manage your account.
  • Location data - approximate or precise location when you use the app to find or create activities. Location is only accessed while using the app and is not collected in the background.
  • Activity data - activities you create or join, including coordinates, city, meeting point, distance, pace, and start time.
  • Messages - content you send in activity chats, including associated metadata.
  • Device and usage data - IP addresses, device identifiers, app interactions, crash logs, and diagnostics.
  • Support and communications - messages or reports you send to us.

Our website stores your language preference in your browser's local storage. No tracking cookies are used on the website.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and personalize our services (contract)
  • Show relevant activities nearby (based on your consent to share location)
  • Enable communication between activity participants (contract)
  • Send notifications about activities you've joined (consent)
  • Analyze usage and improve the service (legitimate interest)
  • Ensure platform safety and integrity (legitimate interest)
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations (legal obligation)

4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

We only process your data when we have a lawful basis:

  • Consent - e.g. when you grant permission for location data or push notifications.
  • Contract - to deliver the services you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests - specifically: preventing fraud and abuse, maintaining the security and stability of the platform, understanding how users interact with features to improve the experience, and enforcing our terms of service.
  • Legal obligations - where required by law.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • Service providers - who help us operate the app, including Firebase (authentication, cloud messaging), Google Maps, analytics providers, and infrastructure monitoring providers.
  • Other users - when you choose to share information or participate in activities.
  • Authorities - where legally required.

All providers act as data processors and are covered by data processing agreements (DPAs) where relevant.

7. International data transfers

If your data is transferred outside the EU/EEA (e.g. to the US via cloud providers), we ensure a valid transfer basis, typically through EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

8. Data retention

We only keep your data as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected:

  • Your account and associated data are deleted when you request it
  • Messages in activity chats are deleted when the activity is removed or your account is deleted
  • Crash logs and diagnostics are retained as long as reasonably needed for debugging and service improvement
  • Server and infrastructure logs (including IP addresses and request metadata) are retained for up to 14 days for security and debugging purposes
  • Support communications are retained as long as reasonably needed to resolve your inquiry
  • Data required by law is retained according to applicable regulations

9. Your rights

As a user, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Have your data deleted ("right to be forgotten")
  • Receive your data in a structured format (data portability)
  • Object to our processing
  • Restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Withdraw your consent (e.g. for notifications or location)

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. Contact us at support@entour.dk to exercise your rights.

We will respond to your request within one month. In complex cases, this may be extended by up to two additional months, in which case we will inform you of the delay.

10. Children's privacy

You must be at least 16 years old to use Entour. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under this age. If we learn such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

11. Security

We protect your data through technical and organizational measures, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Access control
  • Ongoing monitoring for misuse and security breaches

12. Automated decision-making

Entour does not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.
